BAD BEHAVIOR

While watching the news tonight I saw the sports footage of the basketball play-offs going on right now. It brought back memories of when my sister, CeCe, and I went to nearly all of Central Gwinnett's basketball games many years ago. I had been out of school for a couple of years and I think she was a senior. We would go to these games with our friend, Bridget, John (the deaf guy), and various other people, and we tried to go to every game.

Well, it was play-off time and Central was playing Gainesville. I remember that CeCe, Bridget, and I went to Shoney's Big Boy to eat before the game. We got lost trying to find the school and we stopped to ask directions only to find out that 'you can't get there from here', which was told to us by a man who pointed to the school across the street. Yes, we felt like boneheads.

Since we got a late start, the gym was packed when we got our tickets. We ended up having to sit on the Gainesville side, which made cheering for Central 'interesting'. There were some girls sitting in front of us who were obviously from Gainesville, and they were acting like total bitches. They would say things about us real loud so we could hear and then we would do the same. We finally thought of a way to get the 'last word'.

The girl sitting directly in front of me had long straight hair. I don't recall who did it first (I'm pretty sure it was CeCe) but we were chewing gum and we started pinching off little tiny pieces of our gum and throwing it in the girl's hair. Every now and then she would smooth the back of her hair, but since the gum balls were so small she must not have felt them. I am POSITIVE, though, that when she got home she realized that something was very wrong. We were very pleased that we had thought of something so 'creative', but the whole time we were doing it I was about to crap myself for fear of someone noticing what we were doing and beating the hell out of us. Yep, we are lucky to be alive after doing some of the stuff we did.

Another time I was with two co-workers who I will call 'Mary S.' and 'Judge'. I don't know why they wanted to do it but we went all the way to Northlake Mall (there weren't any malls closer than Northlake at that time) and we went in the parking lot of Bennigans and threw eggs on cars all over the parking lot. That was my first experience with throwing eggs and it scared me to death. We did it (CeCe, Bridget, Edwin, and I) one other time in a neighborhood in Lawrenceville and got caught and chased into a culdesac. That's all I can say about that time. It still gives me the willies just thinking about that night. I don't think I've ever been as scared as I was that night!

I look back on those days and wonder why I felt I had to do such awful stuff, when it frightened me to death to do any of it. I think CeCe was a bad influence on me. Yeah, that's what happened.
